Midface lift

The aging process in the face consists of flabbiness, atrophy and reshaping of soft tissues and bones that cause deformations:

1. In the middle level of the face: flattening of the face, disappearance of the buccal prominence, sagging muscles and skin of the lower eyelids with the appearance of bags under the eyes or visible disappearance of tissues and elongation of the lower eyelid, changes in the shape of the eye sockets from round to oval, drooping cheeks, deepening of nasal folds - over these folds, an additional skin and subcutaneous fold is formed,
2. In the lower floor of the face: the folds of the puppet appear, and the lower edge of the jaws is distorted by the appearance of the so-called "hamsters".

For people with strongly pronounced nasolabial folds and distortions of the middle level of the face i.e., in the area from the eyes to the mouth, a midface lifting treatment is dedicated to the middle level of the face. Here, the cuts are made on the lower eyelid as for lower eyelid surgery. Each treatment is preceded by appropriate planning of skin cuts. The treatment is more aggressive than the lower eyelid surgery and consists in dissecting the cheek tissues from the cheekbones and lifting them up and fixing them to the bone or temporal muscle. The midface lift treatment is automatically combined with the correction of the lower eyelids, thanks to which we also obtain a very good effect of filling the cheeks and lower eyelids due to the lifting of the tissues that have fallen under the lower eyelid. This treatment is combined with the lower eyelid and eyebrow lift treatment for an even better aesthetic result. It is only a dynamic canthopexy, not an actual facelift of the middle of the face!!! Please don't let anyone tell you that your cheeks will be lifted!!!

Consequences and possible complications after a facelift of the middle floor of the face:

1. Swelling and bruising - this is a consequence, not a complication.
2. Asymmetry, we are not symmetrical, so perfect symmetry cannot be obtained.
3. Hematoma in subcutaneous tissue, accumulation of blood in the dissected space, forcing the surgeon to re-evacuate the hematoma to find the source of the bleeding and close it. Failure to do so may cause further consequences, such as shrinkage and hardening of the lower eyelid tissues, lowering the ciliary edge of the eyelid, the so-called scleral show.
4. Lower eyelid eversion, the so-called ectropion, with conjunctivitis and conjunctival suppuration, not subject to pharmacological treatment
5. Injury to the infraorbital nerve, temporary or permanent, causing loss of sensation in the upper lip, nose and cheek
6. Unsatisfactory aesthetic effect or lack of the expected effect, which is only a subjective assessment of the patient. You will miss the patient's expectations of the surgeon's operational capabilities.
7. Temporary effects of "Chinese" eyes that disappear after 1 month.
8. Inability to remove all wrinkles and change the skin structure!
9. Allergies to drugs used
10. Venous thrombosis with pulmonary embolism and death
